Greetings
from Moldova.
After 27 hours on yet another memorable train we made it to our 11th and final country. We’ve been
here a week now and it kind of feels like we stepped in a time machine and
hopped out a 100 years ago. We are staying in the remote village of Cornesti.
It’s a small place. The church, the homes we’re staying in and the work sites
we are working at are all with in a two minute walk from each other. Our diet
here is the same each day and consists of anything white or oily.  White bread, white rice, white mashed
potatoes, oily soup, and the real treat, white fe
ta cheese. This morning I asked a girl we are working with if there was an
ATM in town, her response was “What’s that?” Below you
can see the pictures of our bathroom and the main source of transportation we
see in the village!
And I’ve yet to shower, well,
because there isn’t one. There is no heat or running water where we are living.

Our
ministry here is in full swing and seems to be the perfect pace for us. The
church we are partnering with here has a shelter where five boys and five girls
who have no parents live and are cared for. They also have a sewing school and
kids program each afternoon. Our three boys are doing some tough physical work.
The church here breeds beavers to earn money, so the guys have been working
long days to build a new home for them to be able to house more beavers.
Yesterday, they also worked with a group of boys from the shelter to dig a
well. Us girls are doing house visits in the morning. We take food and pray for
some people in need. We also are harvesting some fields of carrots. In the
afternoons after lunch we help put on the kids program. Our time here is short
so we are trying to make the most of serving each day.
