Thirty-one amazing people, 10 days, 2 (bucket) showers, and 1 faithful God. That is a little insight of what Training Camp (TC) looked like for me in the peachy state of Georgia. I was terrified of going to TC because of how little information we really knew beforehand. The night before leaving for Georgia, I prayed that God would prepare my squad-mates and my heart to be focused on Him and that we would come together as a community of one body of believers. Man oh man did the Lord provide.
The past 10 days I have been stretched emotionally and spiritually in how God works and in my faith. I am trying to think of the best things to say in this blog because there are a plethora of things I want to say. But to whomever is reading this, I hope you at least get this one thing out of my blog: be a follower of God, not a fan.
The goal of going on the World Race is to accomplish these 3 things: mission, intimacy, and community.
1) Mission- doing the things God has called us to do.
2) Intimacy- growing close to God in our relationship.
3) Community- we are not supposed to do this alone, HOLLAAA!
**Disclaimer: you do not have to go on the World Race to accomplish this and going also does not guarantee this. Humbling yourself to the Lord is where you start, James 4:7-10.**
TC was packed full of worship, sessions, laughter, vulnerability, friendship, chill bumps, healing, generosity, and much much more. Half way through the week, my tent ended up getting flooded along with everything else in it. Just a little tip for anyone planning to campout soon: make sure that you stake your cover out..not just down, this will save you a lot of trouble in the long run:D Despite the circumstances, I got to experience the Lord’s love through these people who I had just met. They let me borrow clothes, a sleeping bag, and even pillows. God can always turn any situation into one that glorifies Him.
We are E squad and our color is blue, aka we are blue and boujee. We camped out every night except for the one night we had an airport simulation. That night we got to sleep inside, squished together with all the lights on, and with a recording of airport sounds. Pretty sick soundtrack if you want to follow it on Spotify.
Meet my new fambam! These people radiate God’s love and have heart’s to serve for the Lord. Also, we won Squad Wars, so you can say we are a pretty big deal.
This may get a little confusing but along with being on a squad, everyone also gets placed on a team within your squad. I am so pumped to be on a team of 6 incredible girls striving to live our life for the Lord. We are called Team Emunah which means faith in Hebrew. The description of it says: to take firm action, so to have faith is to act. It is like a staircase. You may know that the stairs go up to the next level, but until you climb the stairs you will not experience the next level. Doing is more important than knowing. We want to not only believe in the stairs but to also climb them.
This is the beautiful Team Emunah! They are fun, loving, kind, real, and supportive ladies. Can not wait to take on this next year (and life) with them!! #godogs #ruffinit
I know this is a pretty scattered blog but these past 10 days have made me have some pretty scattered thoughts. But God is sovereign, stable, and knows what is ahead. So lets follow His path for us and let the world know how great our God is!
Thank you to everyone who has been praying and who has supported me! It means more than you even know! 🙂
