I was sitting at the lunch table one day at school and was talking with my friends about my desire to go on a mission’s trip before I started college. One of my friends told me about The World Race. She shared that she knew some people who were on the race this year and they were loving it. I was completely amazed at the idea that there was a structured gap year program for young adults to serve the Lord and explore the world. I was super excited about everything I was learning about The World Race, but after some research, I started to tell myself that there was no way I could raise enough money or rearrange my schedule in time to pull off going on The World Race.

Despite what I told myself, I found that through prayer, conversation in a bible study I attend, and looking towards wise role models in my life that I felt the Lord calling me to move forward in the process of applying to the race. I submitted by application at the beginning of April and just learned that I have been accepted to serve in Swaziland, Nepal, India and Guatemala, starting in September!

Things are moving fast and I am feeling a bit overwhelmed as I finish the last few weeks of firefighter school, work towards high school graduation, training for volunteer firefighting and fundraising for this trip. However, I am jumping in wholeheartedly, trusting that God will provide everything I need and that I will end up where He wants me.
