UPDATE to Adopt A Box Fundraiser 8/4/18:
Over the past couple months I have been receiving comments and messages from so many people about my Adopt A Box fundraiser. I can’t thank you enough for the ways you have blessed me and I am so grateful to announce that this fundraiser has provided $3,244! I have made the decision to end the Adopt A Box fundraiser. Here’s a final look at the Adopt A Box poster. Just look at that! Thank you all so, so much!
Many of you have also given towards my trip with generous and thoughtful donations of your own and I am so amazed how God has provided through all of you! In the beginning, I was so nervous about fundraising and honestly, almost didn’t even sign up for the race because of the amount of money I had to raise. God has provided far beyond what I would have ever imagined. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
UPDATE to Adopt A Box Fundraiser 5/24/18:
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated already! I have been overwhelmed all of the generous donations and responses I have received. I want you to know that God is using each and every one of you to encourage me along this journey.
Here is an updated photo of the poster for those of you who would still like to adopt a box!
UPDATE to Adopt A Box Fundraiser 5/21/18:
Thanks to many generous people, I have raised $453! Just today I was talking to my brother and mom and told them I am praying hard to raise the money I need and then a friend came by with an envelope of cash to put towards my Adopt A Box Fundraiser!
Below is an update of the boxes that have been “adopted.” Do you have a box you want to adopt?
Adopt A Box Fundraiser 5/12/18:
This past Wednesday I got the email reminding me that my first fundraising deadline is less than six weeks away! Don’t get me wrong, I knew the date of the deadline in my mind, but with my senior year quickly coming to an end and studying for finals and firefighting exams, I didn’t realize how soon it was ACTUALLY coming up.
From the very start, Adventures in Missions (the organization that the World Race Gap Year Program is run through) has said that part of this experience is fundraising. Honestly, that part sometimes makes me sick to my stomach. I want to go on this mission trip so badly, but raising the money I need feels like the one thing that could keep me from what I want to be doing. I am trying my best to stay faithful in prayer and trust fully that if this is what the Lord wants me to do, then the funds will be taken care of.
Already, many of you have shown generous support to me and I can’t thank you enough. It has been really encouraging to me and God is using YOU as real life reminders of how He will never fail me. It’s so amazing to see that right when I get nervous about fundraising, I receive an email that someone has generously donated. God keeps showing me that everything is going to be okay and He is making a way for me to go.
Here are the fundraising deadlines I have before me:
June 22, 2018 – $5000
August 24, 2018 – $10,000
January 15, 2019 – fully funded
I am going to start my first fundraiser – Adopt A Box. My sister, Hannah, was excited to make this for me.
Each box from 1- 100 represents a donation amount (1 = $1, 15 = $15, 27 = $27). You can choose more than one box or get a group to go in on a box. You can “Adopt A Box” by clicking on my “Donate” button and enter your one time donation of that amount. Comment or message me and I will fill in the box representing that number. If every box is adopted, $5050 is raised!
I will post updates of this fundraiser on my blog and social media to show remaining squares. Every dollars counts and I truly appreciate your support. Let’s work together to meet my first fundraising goal!
