This Thanksgiving I am reminded of just how much we all should be THANKFUL. This Thanksgiving, nothing special happened. There was no parade, no turkey, no feast, no football, no afternoon nap. There wasn’t anything that made Thanksgiving—Thanksgiving. Yet it was Thanksgiving because my World Race family GAVE THANKS to God. We gave thanks for things that are necessary for life, like food and clean water.

Yesterday (Wednesday, Nov. 22) our ministry hosted about 20 elderly women from the community whose families have abandoned them for a Bible study. These women have very little. After the Bible study the women were given small food baskets, mostly filled with beans, rice, and oil. The women were so thankful for the food; they were also extremely thankful for the love that our team showed them. These women felt loved for the first time in months—isn’t that something to be thankful for.

So this Thanksgiving, GIVE THANKS for the moments like that in life.
Give THANKS to those who are serving the Lord our God around the world!
Give THANKS that you have clean drinking water, that doesn’t run out.
Give THANKS for the extra food in your pantry.
Give THANKS for the friends and family that surround you and LOVE you.
Give THANKS for homes that are protected from mosquitoes.
Give THANKS for Wi-Fi to chat with family back home.
Give THANKS to those who donated and sacrificed their time, money, and resources for the Kingdom.

“Oh give THANKS to the LORD, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever!” —1 Chronicles 16:34
