Over the last couple weeks, I have said many goodbyes, but some of the hardest were to my friends. While this isn’t goodbye forever, it is see you later, like in a year. Regardless, I have decided to write a short poem in reminisce of them. Goodbye my friends I will miss you!

An Ode to Friends

to the Frolfers

      Nothing beats playing disc golf,

We’ve played in rain, snow, heat.

We’ve seen records broken and Aces scored,

And as long as we love the game, many more memories will be made.

to the Campers

Life is so much more fun—with fire.

While playing games and tree jumping was fun,

It can’t compare to stories told around the campfire,

Remember “What happens at the fire stays at the fire.”

to the IV Hardrockers

      Life can be very challenging,

But as long as stick together,

You can conquer final projects, exams, and the World.

As long as you remember to love God 1st and love others 2nd.

to the Comet(ers)

Life during High School seems so simple and so distant

And even though we’ve gone down our separate paths

When old friends are united; we bring back the good times.

LET’S DO THE WAVE! GO COMETS!

to the Gamers

Life is like a box of chocolates,

You never know what you’re gonna get.

Sheep, Sheep, Sheep oh look more sheep.

Remember it’s nothing personal, it’s just good business.

to the Gamers II

Life is awesome, when we are playing games

Whether it’s Settlers, Sorry, Apples to Apples, or Idiot,

It doesn’t matter, just as long as we’re together

      Remember the winner picks up.

to the Brickmaster

      Life was so much easier,

      When we were building together.

And even though our lives turned down different paths,

I will remember our LEGO masterpieces for forever.

to the Storyteller

What fun is life, if you can’t tell its stories?

Even if you tell me the SAME story a thousand times when we hang out,

I will choose to hang out with you at the hockey arena, golf course,

      and wherever life leads us;

Because together we will make a thousand NEW stories.

to the Older Brother

Life is better because you encouraged me.

You showed me how to work hard,

How to search for petrified forests,

And how to pursue a woman in a Godly manner. Thank You.

to the Adventurer

Life is full of excitement when you come around

Your passion in life can be overwhelming,

But when you invest in the right people

You turn them into beautiful flowers.

to the Younger Brother

Go. Live your life for God!

Find the gifts and the strengths He has given you.

And pursue them with all your heart.

I love you back man of God!
