“Who are you?” asked Shasta.
“Myself,” said the Voice, very deep and low so that the earth shook: and again “Myself,” loud and clear and gay: and then the third time “Myself,” whispered so softly you could hardly hear it, and yet it seemed to come from all around you as if the leaves rustled with it.
C.S. Lewis, The Horse and His Boy
14 God replied to Moses, “I am who I am. Say this to the people of Israel: I am has sent me to you.”
Exodus 3:14
“Myself” and “I am who I am.” When it comes to God, there are no extra hidden fees, nothing hiding behind a mask. God is so perfect, so holy, that he presents himself as fully-himself. What is more inviting, more trustworthy, than someone being completely real with you while extending complete and perfect love?
