Falling madly in love with desert life.

We made it to Peru about a week ago and this is the first time I’ve had WiFi! So to catch everyone up, we had a 24+ hour bus ride from Banos Ecuador to Trujillo Peru. We’re working with an organization called Inca Link. Their heart is to go into the darkest places, where no one wants to go, and be the hands and feet of Jesus to the least of these. Just like in Ecuador, we’re serving in a garbage dump village reaching families and providing them with whatever we can.

There is also a team of high schoolers from Summit Church in Canada here with us. They came down with their leaders during their spring break to help serve alongside Inca Link. We got to serve, eat, and laugh together this past week. I can’t wait to hear how they will be spreading The Kingdom in the future.

Overall, this is has been a very interesting month, so far. There have been times where our days were packed with service projects and others where we had no idea what was going on. One of the ministries Inca Link Peru has is sand boarding. It’s a fun free way for the locals to come in, do the thing, and hear about Jesus. Never in my life did I think I would be hiking up a mountain in the Peruvian desert with a group of Canadians. The Race is full of surprises.
