With the year coming to a close, I thought it’d be fun to look back a bit and remember some good things that happened. We can do this because my blog is also a time traveling device. Bet you didn’t know that, huh?

Let’s do this.

(ignore my face, please) I went to Florida for the first time in over 13 years with my family! We went down to visit my aunt and uncle who just had twin babies.

Celebrated Passover for the first time! It was an amazing night of fellowship and worship as we remembered God bringing His people out of slavery in Egypt. The food was phenomenal and we danced the night away. The dancing wasn’t like our “dancing”. There, everyone was doing the same moves and every move had a specific meaning attached to it and each move was used to give praise to God. I don’t believe I’ve ever felt closer to God than I did that night.

I was a paid intern at my church! I was the Kids Community intern which means I covered stuff from crafts to everything done on stage for large group. I edited scripts, helped build the set for the series we had going on, got really good at cleaning and organizing things, learned how to use a copier, got to sit in on all the staff meetings, AND made some amazing friendships in the process.

Went to an animal free circus with my mom and sister! It was pouring rain outside but that didn’t stop us! Can’t remember how much cotton candy I had that night but I know it wasn’t nearly enough.

Had my first Friends-giving! It was also the night of my 21st birthday and I was surprised with a pan full of brownies that said “Happy birthday Caleb!”

I was a pirate for the last time at our Kids Community Christmas service. The pirates have been the kids favorite in k5 for years. This year, they learned that the true treasure of Christmas is Jesus’ birth.

I was prayed over by all our KidServe kids, their families, and the other leaders. KidServe are the teams of kids who want to respond to God’s love by serving Him. I was a leader of Amped which is our worship team for k5! We have songs and fun dance moves we do up on stage to show that you can worship God with your voice and with your movements.

The crazy part is, I was most of these kids preschool leader at church. I got to teach them about Jesus when they were 3, 4, & 5! Who knew that they would be praying over me before I leave to teach others the same truths? I pray to have faith like them one day.

This year has definitely been a year like no other. It’s been hard saying “goodbye” to everyone but I have to remember that I’m not just leaving everything behind but going towards what God is calling me into.

I can’t wait to make more memories with my new family.
