This last Sunday I gave the message at Rainbow Church International. I never thought I would be the one to stand behind the pulpit on a Sunday morning, but I decided to practice what I preach.
One of my slogans, or catch phrases, since being on the World Race has been, “You don’t grow as much when you’re comfortable.” So I took it and ran with it this last week. I said yes to being the one to inspire, teach, and preach on the word of God.
Boy was it worth it. I was able to dive deeper into what the Lord was trying to say, and truly trust in Holy Spirit for the words to say.
I preached on faith.
I preached on the kind of faith it took for Abraham to be willing to sacrifice his son knowing and hoping that the Lord will provide something so much greater.
I preached on Hebrews 11 and what faith actually is according to the word of God.
I preached on stepping out in faith without knowing what the future holds, and saying yes without conditions.
I definitely am a long way from being perfect when it comes to preaching, but I now know that the Lord will strengthen me and guide me to whatever it is that He wills. I just have to step out in faith and say yes.
We have to be like Abraham and be willing to sacrifice whatever it is God is asking us to. God is asking us to step out in faith and put trust in him. So will you?
In Him,
Caleb Callaway
