ADVENTURE DAYS are a major component to the WORLDRACE experience. A
Imagine with me, being stuck on a lake front hostel, overlooking the beautiful Lake Malawi. It is an amazing place, with sunrises on the lake that would daily steal the breath from my lungs.
We are working everyday with preschoolers, and elementary school kids. We come home to our tents, try to grab a book, maybe head to the bar area of the hostel, try to find an empty hammock, and try to relax.
It is absolutely stunning, except for the fact that you feel imprisoned. Sure there is no where to go, so you get comfy, but there is no where to go. So when you hear the locals talk about coffee fields you can go visit.
You strike up a conversation, you agree on a price, you tell the team (they are all on board, except for Mariah who is more a homebody)…and you all get into a car with the now tour guide.
Who informs you that it is a tea field. Then its a tea factory. Then he doesnt know where to go. Then the factory is closed, as the guards are very concerned about the 5 white people in the car. (aka why are they here).
At this point, I was not turning around….
(aka adventures days planned by Caleb, are less planning, more getting into trouble)
