Whoop Whoop. Because of you beautiful people I have REACHED MY FIRST GOAL!
It is like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, at least temporarily.
Currently I am weeks away from Training Camp. I am extremely nervous about Training Camp. I would like to have all of my supplies prepped and ready before Training Camp. Then the rest of my paychecks can go straight to the race.
Presently I still need:
1. Camera
Since I am going to travel the planet, I really should document my adventures. I love the video platform and youtube. I feel the most comfortable with that medium, plus I am a visual person. Not to mention I have an amazing personality that needs to be filmed.
I have narrowed down my camera options to the Canon G7X or the Canon S120. Both cameras have features that I need, (timelapse, frame rate, ect). However, camera equipment is not the cheapest. The G7X is upwards of $700, and the S120 averages around $500. Which is way more then I would like to spend on a camera, but my content will be worth it.
2. Tent/Sleeping Bag/Sleeping Mat
I have most of these things, but again it is not up to my standards. So new equipment will be needed. I love backpacking, and do want to continue in the future. The fun part about backpacking is I only have to buy this stuff once. I need to get quality equipment, an ultralight compact tent, and compression sleeping bag, and a self-inflating sleeping mat. The sleeping mat is super important. The older I get, the more I understand the necessity of having quality materials to sleep on.
3. Wardrobe
Oh boy do I need new clothes. I cannot even remember the last time I went shopping for a whole new wardrobe. Being a guy I will not need much, a few shirts, a couple pair of shorts/pants, and shoes (I need new shoes). Not to mention, I really want to go shopping. #treatyoself
All this stuff costs money, and I really would like to have it all before Training Camp. After that all I have will Vaccinations to do, and then everything else goes to the Race.
Currently I am $4,000 away from the launch goal, and about $10,000 from being completely funded. This looks like a lot, but with your help I know anything is possible. Thank you again for your support and encouragement. Thank you for understanding. I will bring all of you with me on this journey.
