I haven’t blogged in the past few months. I found myself looking at the screen not knowing what to write about. I would sit there for hours trying to write something profound or artistic. I realize now that that is completely unnecessary. I’m just going to be real with you guys, cool?

Lets talk about people.

I have met some truly amazing people over the past 5 years. I am honored to be able to call these people my friends. I want to talk about three people in particular. These three guys have discipled, taught, and mentored me.

Tyler: Tyler was my camp group leader in 9th grade and since then he has taught me the reality of what we live for as Christ followers. I was able to meet with him Monday mornings before school to just get coffee and talk about life and Jesus. Tyler showed me how to stay grounded and real about what I believe.

Connor: Connor is a riot. He loves people so much. We would hang out and I could hear by the way that he talked that people are his passion. Connor taught me the importance of discipleship and what it means to genuinely love people and put others before ourselves.

Chris: I met Chris about 5 months ago. The first time we got coffee we busted out our bibles and it looked like a box of markers threw up on his. Inspiring. He had pictures drawn in it so he could better understand and explain concepts and ideas that the bible opens up for us to learn. Since meeting with Chris I have a better understanding of how to study my bible and I have somewhat of a grasp on concepts that I hadn’t even heard of before. Now I want my bible to look like his.

Sometimes God speaks to us through the people that we have in our lives. God teaches us and helps us grow in our relationship with Him through others. The way that He works is so much bigger than we realize. As I prepare for this 9 month trip, these things that I’ve learned will be with me, and I am excited to teach these things to others.

Thanks for reading! If you want to help support my mission either financially or through prayer please don’t hesitate to contact me!
