I am Caleb Funderburk, a 22 year old kid who loves adventure and believes in dreaming big. And when you dream big then you should PRAY bigger and be prepared to put in a lot of work! Settling in life is easy, but God teaches His best lessons when He calls us to do something that requires us to go through the valley, so that we can enjoy the mountain’s peak.
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” -Psalm 23:4
I will be graduating this May of 2015 from Louisiana College with a degree in Christian Studies and a minor in Communication Studies (I figured it’d be a good idea to learn more about the Gospel, then add a minor that would help me communicate it effectively!) While in college I was involved in almost everything because apparently I hate free time… BUT I love people, so I struggle being alone (unless it’s nap time, I like the rare occasion of naps!) I played ultimate Frisbee on our college team, Sorrow Bear. I have loved my time at LC and the relationships built while I was in college will last forever! #clawsup
I grew up in the small town (village actually) of Florien. I honestly have the two best parents in the world, Wade & Gail, who have supported me, encouraged me, and prayed for me throughout every aspect of my life. Even though I continually am coming up with some kind of crazy adventure to undertake, they have always overcome their fears that comes naturally from being a parent and have made sure that I was able to go, as long as I truly felt God leading me. I have one older brother, Jacob, who was my counterpart in my adventures in my early years of life. We spent our days outdoors and using our imagination to take us on our “journeys” as we climbed trees, fought with wooden swords, and built zip-lines across The Creek (It must have been hard to raise us).
Through the World Race, I am excited to have the opportunity to embark on another great adventure. Also, I am excited that this adventure has more purpose than just for the sake of exploration. I am excited to be able to go with the Gospel and bring a light of hope to those who are in darkness. I am excited to share what God has done for me in my life with people all across the world.
I know that I have said a lot about myself, so I will leave you with just a few of my favorite things:

Finally I want to leave you with this last verse as it is the call for every believer and has made a large impact in my life.
“18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold,I am with you always, to the end of the age.” -Matthew 28:18-20
