ANYWAYS
So my last week in New Zealand was something special.
There were 12 of us World Racers working at the Christian Conference “New Wine” in Waikanae New Zealand this past week, and Susie and I got a special job of helping out with the 11-13 year old kids in the sweetest group ever known as CUTTING EDGE!!!
The week was filled with high excitement, ridiculous games, great leaders, even more amazing kids, and lots of movement from God.
Let me give you a run down of the week.
The week started on Wednesday where I met the 12 other leaders in Cutting Edge. They are remarkable similar to me. We all have way to much fun for high school kids, and we are way to competative for little kids, so middle school works out perfectly for us all. There was a music team, a drama team (susie and i were in it), and then we all were designated as group leaders.
Right off the bat the kids were split into 6 teams. My team was the PLUTO PREDATORS ARRRGGHHH. We had banner and cheer competitions, loud music, games and morning tea at 10:30 am which has become a regular meal in my daily diet.
It was a really great experience watching the kids bond together so well and have such a great time throughout the day. Then at night time, we had some more worship songs, and then a lesson on the life of Jesus. How he came to this world to die for all people because we are all sinners, and the wages of sin is death. But the good news is that if we just believe in him we can have eternal life with him.
The reaction to the message was increadible. Kids were asking for forgiveness, they were crying out to God, and finding such great freedom in forgiveness. The coolest thing ever was how even the kids who already knew God were getting a chance to realize that being a chirstian isn’t a title, it is a lifestyle, and they were rededicating their lives to Christ.
The weekend continued, the kids grew, and we all got really dirty from the different games. But in the end, we all had a great time.
I am going to write two more blogs over the next two days. The first is a recap of what I did during the week (i was in the Drama with Susie my teammateand led a message) and then the second is the story of my boys. There were 6 guys there who have radically changed my perseption of devotion to God.
Basically, there are lots of stories, so I am going to spread em out.
