This started as a poem for me
Then turned into a free verse cause i just wanted to write before God
And then turned into a blog for everyone.
I am not going to try and explain it, I hope it explains itself

Perspective

Shacks fail the test against rainstorms, and would never
pass inspection

Collisions with floors of gravel, leave kids plastered with
infections

Parents lost in a void, there lives have no bliss

 Trapped
somewhere betwixt helpless and hopelessness

Unprepared eyes instinctually water, overwhelmed by
confusion

Where is love? Where is hope?  This life needs a different resolution

Babies have no retreat, against the midday heat!

Night after night, kids go to bed, still hungry as they
sleep!

Dulled eyes were blinded by vivid colors of real life.

Dumb ears blasted by sounds of reality

Sensory overload. Realization of submission.  GIVE UP. I CAN’T CHANGE THIS

One month wont help anyone. How can I serve here?

I thought I was aware. I thought I was living a life of
human justice.

Realizing overcomes me:  I am apart of the 10 percent rich who
has forgotten about the  90 percent
poor who lacks the luxuries of clean water and soft toilet paper.

Soft paper? How about any toilet paper.

I must confess my thoughts to quit

Why walk around? Jericho’s walls are fortified?

Why pull? Excalibur is not coming out?

“Hello my name is Minda, you are going to come visit my
neighborhood and tell them the GOOD NEWS of Jesus?”

This tiny little lady works 2 jobs to provide for her family
and kids

By American standards she has hardly anything to be thankful
for,

 But she is
LIVING, not SURVIVING like most humans do.

This woman lives with real joy and satisfaction in life

“Yes tell my friends about Jesus. Tell my neighbors about
the king.”

She never wants to stop sharing about how Jesus can forgive
sin

Minda has changed my view about the world, and praise the
Lord she has. But the real lessons about what is to love on  a community is that the benefits are
not physical. YES IT IS GREAT TO BRING FOOD AND SONGS, BUT PAIN AND INJUSTICE
ARE EVERYWHERE AND FOOD IS JUST A BAND-AID FOR SOMETHING THAT NEEDS SURGERY!

Jesus died for their sins, and they need to hear that so
that they might be free!!!

And now I see these people no longer in black and white but
now with so much color. Cause God loves them.  Yes I will delight in the times we can give them water and
food. But more so I will not  be
discouraged because even when we can’t provide for their physical needs, I can
always share with them about Spiritual freedom. And the life that comes with
Jesus Christ!!!

This neighborhood is on fire now. God is on the move

Cause people like Minda have not forgotten, the simple commands to do

Love God. Love others,

Be anxious about nothing

Be strong and courageous!

We serve a living King!
