Last month we had two people join us for the month.
They are back in America now, but the beauty is they put up pictures for us.  So now I actually have some pictures for all of you.

Half of our ministry this montyh was designated to constructing the foundation and walls of a new church.

The work was hard because it was knew to us, but the cool thing about this was that we were working with locals.

I will be honest, we aren’t the most talented builders by a long shot, but the great thing about it was that we are white. Sadly, white people are traditionally lazy.
So by working hard we really were able to show them that we CARED about them and the LOVE of Christ is a love that is more than just saying something. It is living, working and just being with them.

The work consisted of mostly mixing concrete. Shoveling dirt to make the foundation, and just working with the guys who lived there.

One of the highlights was our brick carrying competition. I’m not going to brag, but I got 11 at once!!!  New site record…the competition was created and ended that day =)

These days could easily seem worthless sometimes as we often found that there was more of us than there was work.  Satan tried to get us discouraged by reminding us that we could only have basic conversations with the workers, and we aren’t the best talent.

But I will tell you what.  If you work beside someone, even if they don’t speak your language, you are showing them you care.
It made it that much cooler once we got a translator to really explain our hearts to the people.  Talking to them about Jesus was so easy because they knew we cared.

The blessing of the week was when we got invited to one of the workers houses.
We had been working besides the people, and now we were building relationships with them.

We were invited to their homes, and treated like royalty. We ate Ugali, we had beans and GREAT CHAI TEA!!!

In Kenyan culture, they really hold to the idea of treating your guests with the utmost respect.  What an honor and a lesson to learn.  Most people had to little to give, but they gave generously.   So naturally we were honored to give back in anyways we can….  =)

SO THAT MEANS KIDS SONGS AND DANCING!!!!

This was taken while we were doing some basic Jesus songs,  camp songs,  and old time classics like “boom chica boom” and “the macarana”

This was a different day, but we also got to work with kids at a school and teach them the Jai Hoe dance. oh I love that

So what does this mean.

Kenya was great.  I miss the place becuase that month we got to live with our contacts. We got to really be with the people, and we got to just share the love of Christ.

The stories about evangelism are coming.  I just only have a little bit of internet at a time so i wanted to get some pictures up.

Okay love you all.

See you in 4 months!
