Another epic day of ministry that you will read about later. But for now i promised a fun blog. So here we go! Enjoy the video!
It was a delightful Tuesday afternoon when Auston , Margie and I went to go visit a church of Filipinos.
They offered us fruit, coke and crackers. It was awesome. The day was amazing…and then the BALUT!
Definition.
Balut is a fertilized duck egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell. It is commonly sold as streetfood in the Philippines.
It looks like this.
That is Cely in the middle who bought us this delightful treat.
The process:
First:
Crack open the top of the shell
Add salt to the baby’s embrionic fluids
Suck it dry
Now that the baby is de-jucified, take off the shell and sprinkle some more salt
Pop it in your mouth and try to be able to breathe around the masses
CHEW FAST WITH EYES CLOSED
DO NOT LET PEOPLE QUACK OR REMIND YOU WHAT YOU ARE EATING
DO NOT LOOK AT ANYONE ELSES EGG, OR YOU WILL SEE IT’S EYES LOOKING AT YOU
It tastes like an interesting chicken noodle soup!
Gather all of your friends, and repeat process.
Enjoy the video to see how we handled it!
