So it all began my sophmore year of college. That is when I knew God was calling me to full time mininstry. Ever since fall of 2009 I have talked on and off about doing overseas missions.
I have been a part of a student leadership team with a college ministry called H2O ( check it out at www.h2ocollegeministries.com) since the fall of 2009. In that year I discovered a passion to be involved with, international students.
Two years later, God is still increasing within me a, passion to see international students at Winona State fall in love with Jesus.
This passion for international students has increased my desire to travel. This last summer (summer of 2011) I began looking into overseas mission oppurtunities. I was trying all sorts of doors, asking and trusting that God would close the wrong doors and reveal the right ones…and he did, though it was not as obvious as a burning bush.
When I finally came across The World Race, I was like YESSS! this is sweet. God if this isn't the door you better be ready to shut it!! I started praying about The World Race in July and it was in the middle of August that I finally felt assurance in going on The World Race. It was as if the person God created me to be, personality- and passion-wise, was manifested into an 11 month mission trip.
This is a tremendous oppurtunity to sample 11 cultures and societies while lifting Jesus up around the world. Ultimately I just want to be pouring out that perfume on His feet whereever I am as the person he has knitted me to be.
