Hey y’all! Quick update! I’m currently laying in my tent at training camp, in Gainesville, Georgia. The crickets and frogs are no joke here! I signed up to do an extra day of “storyteller workshop” as part of the training for my mission trip, with no idea what to expect. It was so worth it! Today we got to hear from previous World Race photographers and videographers about the ministry they were able to do simply through being vulnerable with art. As 50 of us were sitting in the room together just praying over how God is calling us personally to minister, I just got an overwhelming sense of peace. All of a sudden, the nerves about the fitness hike, fitting everything into my pack, the small portions, the shorts dress code, the humidity- it all vanished. This isn’t about me. This isn’t about some cool thing I’m doing. This isn’t about fun travels. This IS about how I can relay other peoples stories and lifestyles to you all, because I believe we all take something, be it compassion or understanding or energy from hearing other people’s stories. This is about how I can learn to be vulnerable in order to better share God’s love.
I have no doubt all of us here at camp will just continue to be transformed, and I pray those of you reading this can get a little something out of it too! I was challenged today to blog every day of the world race, and it is a challenge I feel God pulling me to. I will not be able to post everyday, and I might not write more than four sentences, but I pray someone out there is reading this and is encouraged by whatever I am able to relay!
Thank you all for you support! Blessings!
