To all the women I know,
You are captivating. You are loved, sought after, pursued, and dearly wanted by God. You are worthy, no matter what you’ve done or what has been done to you. You are seen. You are uniquely designed. You are ransomed with a price by the Creator of the Universe. You are wholly known.
You were made for community, not for isolation. Give control of your life to God, and He doesn’t see your shame, the things you’ve done wrong, the things you think you’re too far gone from to have redemption. They vanish. You are whole with God and God alone.
You are wholly beautiful, with an incredible ability to create life. You create life with your words, with uplifting conversations. The atmosphere is different in a room full of women than a room full of men, and that is a glorious thing.
You are not too girly, too much of a tomboy, too wide, too skinny, too tall, too short. It’s not wrong for little girls to love trains or legos, but it also isn’t wrong to dress up as a princess and want to be beautiful. You were, after all, made to be delighted in. God perfectly delights in who you are, exactly as who you are.
God sent His son to die for you, so you can walk with God in the garden of Eden one day. Somedays, your heart will be heavy. It will be filled with longing. It will be heartbroken. This world can be a harsh place, particularly for women. But you weren’t made for this world; you were made for life in the garden of Eden. Perfect, everlasting life, where sadness, injustice, longing, betrayal, pain, sickness, emptiness, isolation do not exist.
Our good God loves you.
There is nothing you are going through or have walked through that is unique only to you.
Your dreams and goals and desires are valuable.
Your heart and identity will never be fully satisfied by anything or anyone except God. God is the only one who will fully satisfy your heart, and the only thing worthy of putting your soul’s trust in. When you do, over and over again, God will come through for you.
You see, God looked at all of creation, said it was good, but knew He was missing something. It was women. This world is not complete without women. (Genesis 2)
Women are made from man’s ribs, but in the image of God. Men do not perfectly represent the image of God. Women are necessary to represent other parts of God’s heart that men cannot. Woman “is the Master’s finishing touch. Women reveal that God wants relationships, God wants a grand adventure with us, and God has deep, layered beauty. Women reveal all this about God, because they have all these qualities wired into them. (Captivating by John and Stasi Eldredge).
Women are leaders, world changers, and life givers. Women are tender, wise, and merciful, strong, beautiful, and powerful.
This world has misplaced and mishandled the value and glory it is to be female.
Being female, is glorious.
Women, you are valuable whether someone tells you that or not. Men and women are different, but women, you are insanely capable, your capacity to love other people and yourself is magnificent. You are strong, you are tough, and emotions are not weakness.
Whether you’re good at makeup and layering clothes and curling hair, whether you like to be muddy and drive trucks, whether you like dresses or not, whether you like camping, whether you like art or think it’s impeccably boring, whether you’ve been in love or been hurt by men, whether you’re a good cook or baker, love or hate shopping, want a big family or not at all, none of it makes you more or less of a woman. You are a woman. You are enough. Lean back and rest in how incredible you are.
You are a beautiful warrior.
