The day training camp ended, my squad leaders gathered all of us up. They reminded us that we had a deadline of getting to $10,000 fundraised before the 26th of August. 5 weeks, 35 days to raise a little under $5,000 dollars. The situation seemed so daunting! I took time on my flight home to pray about how I was going to accomplish this until I realized – I couldn’t accomplish this, at least not on my own. I was going to have to heavily lean on God and the people around me to get me to my next goal.
Now, looking back, God provided in the most amazing ways! I decided to use t-shirts to help me fundraise and they sold like hot cakes! Good friends of mine donated far more than I could ever have imagined! People who I didn’t know well in my church came forward with wonderful donations. I was prayed for (and continue to be prayed for) by many, many people. There was still a lot of work put into it, but God showed up and took a majority of my stress away within the first week! He gave me a peace that, not to sound cheesy, surpassed any understanding I have. I hardly needed to worry about making my deadline.
So for all the people who have donated, bought a shirt, or even just prayed for me, thank you. I couldn’t go out and respond to God’s calling on my life without the support of my friends, family, and even acquaintances! As the trip draws ever closer, I ask that you continue to pray for me. Pray for the stress preparation brings, for my heart that it will be ready and willing to serve God in ANY way He asks, and finally for all the people who I will meet on my trip! I’m ecstatic to be going out and answering God’s call for my life. I just wanted to make this blog post to thank all those who support me, whether financially or through prayer, you all mean so much to me! My great grandmother had a wonderful outlook on life and a wonderful saying that really applies to my situation – I am drinking from the saucer since my cup has overflowed. My cup is truly overflowing with blessings knowing you all think of me and support me!
