How is it that month 7 is almost finished? When you find out, let me know! This month our team has partnered with a ministry called Sending Hope. I didn’t know what to expect when I arrived in Cambodia. All I knew was it was month 7, I was tired, and that Cambodia was supposed to be one of the hottest countries on our route. But, in typical Jesus fashion, he knew. He knew exactly what my heart needed.

Sending Hope Cambodia provides a safe, Christian home environment for girls. Currently there are 10 girls from ages 7-14. These young ladies have many different backgrounds. Some girls were rescued from abusive families and others don’t have parents. At this home, these girls are taught about Jesus, have the opportunity to go to school, are fed and loved deeply. Needless to say, I have been extremely impressed with this ministry.

You might be wondering what ministry looks like for us this month. Our days usually consist of morning devotions and worship with the girls, gardening, lunch, a nap, English lessons and games, concluding with dinner. We are blessed to spend all day with these young ladies.

Here are some highlights from this month:

– This week we had a team from Ohio come and put on a 2 day evangelism camp where children got to hear the gospel.

– This week, 7 of the girls and one staff member got baptized!

– Our team is building relationships with the Buddhist women who own our hostel.

– We have taken multiple field trips with the girls which is something they often don’t get to do due to funds

– Prayer walks through villages

– Weekend getaway to learn about the history of Cambodia

– Meeting racers from different squads in every city

This month has been a sweet, joyful month. I look forward to the day I can return to Cambodia and serve along side of Sending Hope once more.
