It’s the little things that have been teaching me the biggest lessons lately. Funny concept huh…how little glimpses of God’s faithfulness can hold the most weight.
Lately I’ve been in a bit of freak out mode. A lot of my team members have reached great fundraising goals (totally celebrating this because it’s huge)! Meanwhile I’m stuck at almost $700. With only a few short months to hit $16,000, it’s no wonder I’ve been freaking out. Despite my lack of faith, or even my soul dwelling in these moments of fear, Jesus’ truth has been speaking over me time after time again. Whether it is people, or scripture, he has reminded me that he has authority over my life.
It’s the little things. God has blessed me with one heck of a support team. My family, best friends, and team prove his goodness day after day. One thing I have recently been praying for is boldness. I desire such boldness that I might approach people and speak of what God is preparing me for as my departure date is in the near future.
Picture this y’all. So I was at the dentist last week because I had a cavity (sorry mom)! I’ve been going to the same dentist since I was 6 (shout out to Dr. N). We have the usual doctor/patient conversations, but last week was different. She gave me the numbing medicine and then had to wait a few minutes before she began the actual filling. As my mouth began to grow numb, I began to speak about what God is doing in my life and where he is sending me. I guess it’s not every day that someone tells you they’re quitting their job and selling all their clothes for Jesus, which might explain her wide eyes look at me. Anyway, we ended up chatting for probably 20 minutes about where I am going and why. It was so cool! I ended up bringing her a prayer letter just incase I had the courage to talk to her and give it to her. Not only was she excited to follow my journey, but wanted to share it with everyone in the office and on the offices Facebook page! I know that doesn’t sound like a lot, but it was a big deal and I really felt the peace of the Lord, to use words and speak with passion and boldness of what he is doing.
So, that’s what I am doing here! I am thrilled and terrified to obey in this way. God has big things planned. I want to share with y’all of things that are happening with support raising, and what is to come!
Currently:
-Selling a majority of my closet as well as donated clothes from friends! Ladies (or husbands who need gifts for mothers day haha) check out my album on Facebook titled “World Race Fundraiser”. I would love for these items to go to a good home!
– Selling T-shirts to help support raise! With some great help, I’ve designed some shirts to sell(: I love the idea of shirts because it shows unity, and I love the support team I already have! Shirts are $20 each or $25 if you need me to ship it to you. They are burgundy, incredibly soft, and really cool looking!
-Partnership letters! If you are interested in partnering with me on this journey, please send me your address! I would love to send you a letter sharing my heart, along with photos of people I love in countries I have the chance of traveling back to.
