Let me tell you about this super cute coffee shop out in Tustin that my friends and I found a few months ago. It’s called “The Lost Bean”. There’s something sweet and raw about this place because of the community it has. People know each other on a much deeper level than just barista and customer relationships go.
As I walked in to order some coffee, I hear the sweet lyrics that sing “Set a fire in my soul, that I can’t contain, that I can’t control, I want more of you God, I want more of you God”
I walk up to the counter to order my coffee. Taylor, the most joyful barista I have ever met and I start talking. She asks about my Giving Key necklace, we talk about coffee, and share a few laughs. I see that a coffee they are brewing today is from Honduras and I make a side comment that I lived there. We then begin talking about Signs of Love, deaf people, the Gospel, and church. Taylor tells me that she has been to Nicaragua, Guatemala and drove through Honduras. Ironic that those are places I am going to right? I laugh and ask if she’s ever heard of the World Race. Her face LIGHTS UP as she joyful proclaims “I did the World Race!!! That’s why I was serving over there!! One of our employees is leaving in October!!!” hahaha oh the sweet blessings of Jesus!
For the next 30 minutes, Taylor listened to my fears, my nerves, my Jesus moments, as she poured her wisdom over me. Before returning to her shift, she asked if her friend and her could pray for me. We just met, yet they boldly prayed truth and love over me. Praying that I am reminded that I am a daughter of Christ. Reminders of his love for me! Needless to say, I was a sobbing mess in this little coffee shop.
Today I hit my second goal of $10,000. With this new friend, I was able to rejoice about how faithful God is and gain peace and faith of the things he is about to reveal to me this year.
Before I go, I want to say thank you. Thank you Jesus for this sweet new friend, and thank you community for your love and support. This journey is only beginning, but I can confidently say this is where God wants me in this next season.
