I have only one day left in Romania. I can’t believe it. This month has come and gone and I haven’t even begun to process all of it. In short, it has been an amazing month. I have absolutely loved my ministry. It has been the perfect mix of hard work and relationships and I truly believe God placed my team exactly where we needed to be. And the people here are remarkable. I have never known such love and generosity! It has truly been a blessing working with these people.

I have also loved this area. Alba Iulia, Romania is a beautiful place. Hills and mountains surround it, and the sky looks like it was hand painted by God himself. One can find oneself becoming absolutely mesmerized. I am absolutely in love with where we are, but it’s not all rainbows and sunshine.

This place is in desperate need for Jesus. This country has been divided, oppressed and influenced by Communism, and while Communism is in its past, its effects are still evident. People are in pain here and when the majority of people are Orthodox, a religion where it’s based solely on tradition and there is no talk of God’s grace, this pain will never go away.

This month, we have been partnering with Hope Romania and PIEi. Both are organizations focused on sharing the Gospel and therefore providing for people’s spiritual needs but also their physical and practical needs. There are missionaries here from all over the world who have a heart and passion for service, but they cannot do it alone. If God has ever laid missions on your heart, please don’t forget about Europe, and especially the Balkans. “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations. Baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20 When most people think of mission trips, they want to go to third world, but there is a HUGE need here in Europe, but they need more people and support. “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” – Matthew 9:37
