The Refugee Crisis. It happened a while ago, right? Wrong. It’s still happening and people are leaving their homes every day in hopes of finding something better and safer. Whenever I saw videos of refugee camps on the news, it seemed so far away, but this past month, I had the opportunity to serve in a camp filled with around 5,000 refugees from around 40 different countries. It was eye opening and my life will be forever changed because of this experience and the people I met.
