Heyo
So a little about myself:
I’m 20 years old, but most people guess I’m somewhere between 13 and 17. I get a lot of comments like “are you old enough to work here?” usually followed by ” oh…well you’ll appreciate it when you’re older!” An easy way to win my heart is to tell me I look 22.
I’m the middle of three children, all of whom were homeschooled. Let me just clarify that although I was taught by my mom, I never fell under the “home schooled” stereotype. I didn’t have 12 kids and we didn’t make our own clothes. Although our friends may have… But seriously. I loved being home schooled, it was awesome.
I was born in Stamford CT and have lived in Wilton, Litchfield, and New Canaan CT; Front Royal, VA; Waterford and Lapeer, MI; Chicago, IL; and Williamsburg, VA. I went to school at Gordon College in Wenham, MA, and did a semester abroad in Orvieto, Italy (best experience ever).
I LOVE to travel and see new places. I don’t have a single place called home, and I don’t really mind.
Fall of 2009 was the first semester of my Junior year of college, and after that I didn’t go back. Unsure of what I wanted to do and unhappy with my first two years at school, I decided to just leave and see where God took my life. As it turns out, that was the best decision I could have made, because it was that decision that eventually led to the World Race. I’m tremendously excited for this adventure and can’t wait to leave in September!
Here’s a few other things about me:
i love reading..I’m usually reading at least 3 books at a time and have piles of them around my room.
I also love downhill skiing. My parents were ski patrollers so i grew up on the slopes most days.
I’m a certified canoe and kayak instructor, but i get sea sick and am terrified of deep water. go figure
i used to have pet goats and a duck who lived in our house
I’m passionate about discovering who it is that God wants me to be and refuse to get that confused with who society wants me to be
i’m a crossword puzzle fiend
two of my favourite books are 1984 and the hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy
i love trivial pursuit
i’m a vegetarian and i dont eat processed sugar. i’m not yet sure if it’s a phase or a lifetime commitment. we’ll see
i’m irish
the biggest thrill for me is seeing how God works things out…it’s insane. trusting Him is hard, but probably the most rewarding thing i’ve done
