March 15 marks the halfway point of our mission trip and also one year since I was accepted. I’m grateful for God’s grace in guiding me on this journey and for growing deeper into relationship with Him. Each day has looked different but that is the beauty of being God’s hands and feet. Here are some halftime highlights:

Philippines-October 2018

Feeding the hungry. “Share your bread with the hungry” Isaiah 58:7

Leading Bible studies. “Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.” Revelation 1:3

Visiting Women in prison. “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me’.” Matthew 25:34-36

Thailand-November 2018

Chatting with monks. “But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect” 1 Peter 3:15

Praying for the Persecuted Church. “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:10

Interceding for Loi Kroh, a Red Light District. “I will bring them back because I have compassion on them, and they shall be as though I had not rejected them, for I am the Lord their God and I will answer them.” Zechariah 10:6

Praying for Chiang Mai at the Yee Peng Lantern Festival. “For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” Ephesians 5:8

Watching the sunrise from the highest spot in Thailand. “For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be great among the nations” Malachi 1:11

Recognizing World AIDS Day at The Mercy Home Clinic. “And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” James 5:15

Creating Christmas crafts at children’s ministry. “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.” Mark 10:14

Serving the street-based community at Kawan Center. “Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.” Proverbs 14:31

Lesotho-Janurary 2019

Hosting a Women’s Week. “She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her.” Proverbs 3:15

Preaching my first sermon. “Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.” 2 Timothy 4:2

Painting a preschool. “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Staying in a remote village overnight and worshiping with the locals. “Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Tell of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples!” 1 Chronicles 16:23-24
