I met Jane a little over two years ago. I had returned from spring break and my brother told me he had a “surprise” for me. There was Jane sitting next to my brother on his couch in his house. Who was this chick?

Little did I know at that time that Jane would soon become one of my favorite people standing faithfully next to my brother as his lovely bride.

In the past months we’ve gotten to know each other as sisters and friends. It’s been ridiculous when people ask me if I like my brother’s wife – of course I don’t like her, I love her! She is without a doubt one of the strongest and most gentle people I believe I will ever know. She’s been through more hard times in her life than a person should at such a young age. She never got the classic TV sitcom family of the 50’s, yet she and my brother build their relationship on the foundation of Christ. Their example of a Godly couple is so beatiful.

Even with a transfer of schools and surviving cancer during college she was able to graduate well above average. (Although she missed the ceremony because she was on her honeymoon) She even wants to further her studies and go into pediatric oncology. Jane is a young woman not only strong for herself but for others in need. Her heart cares for the less fortunate and young. (I don’t know anyone else with the patience and love to willingly nanny for 3 year olf triplets)

Today, I was fortunate enough to have lunch with them both as we celebrated her 2 year Christian birthday. The love of Christ has blossomed inside her. Every day seems like a new opportunity for her to live in the freedom and grace that the Lord has given her. There’s so much more I could say, but I’ll leave you with this highlight of a woman who inspires me to live a life with the heart of Christ.
