He had the stroke on Father’s Day. On Monday he celebrated his 57th wedding anniversary with his wife, Charlene. The next day he passed away at 79.
James R. Woodward was an inspiring man who lovingly touched everyone he met. He was in my life as a protector, teacher, and friend. He made the whole world laugh with his sense of humor and thirst for life.
The week of his funeral was one of the hardest and most painful weeks I’ve experienced. My heart ached and even though I was surrounded by family I felt lost. My desire was to see God glorified during this time as He provided comfort to the mourning.
God granted me time during the funeral to be His voice. I was in God’s space
– where I’m at the end of my experience and ability looking to where He wants me to be. All I had was John 10:10.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Life to the FULL! My grandpa was a beautiful example of a full life to his family and friends. He worked hard and served all those he loved. As I was sharing this to the guests at the funeral his memory overwhelmed me to see the lives he had touched by simply living his life to the fullest.
And it is Christ Jesus who spoke those words of truth. He is the One who gives this life. Only a life with Him may we truly live to the fullest of what He has to offer His people. Through any and all circumstances may His love and joy become alive and full in your life.
