(Well, I feel like this could be a semi-historic moment in time. I’ve always been anti-put-me-online. Maybe since TIME told us we were all the person on the year because of this cyber interaction I should give it a try.)

I wanna talk about Jesus. He is the Love. He’s my number one topic of conversation. He gets my heart beating fast enough to where its hard to make out full sentences because I can’t breath. Over my summer at a Christian camp I only met a hand full of people who had that excitement. And besides a phone call with a friend my last Jesus convo. would have been a couple weeks ago – a friend and I ran into each other outside of our apartments, sat on the sidewalk, and talked about Jesus for over an hour. I love times like that. If Jesus really is in us, can’t we let Him ooze out of every part of us so much so that there’s no denying He’s the Lord of lords, the King of Kings.

I’m still learning everyday who He is. That’s the best part – you get to know Him more and in new ways everyday. You should never run out of something to say. I read through some of Seth Barnes old blogs and came across one on discipling. Oh, that’s a sweet word with a strong center. Discipling : ” – just a process of one-on-one spiritual encouragement or challenge.” Can I get some more of that please? I’m not suggesting that we sit in a circle as good little boys and girls as we answer ‘Jesus’, ‘God’, or ‘Bible’ to everything we’re asked. Nah, I want to hear questions that can’t be answered, heart cries that desperately need prayer, guidance through Scripture, moments of silence when you’re just taken back because of His glory. Forget the norm, or stereotypes, or comfort that bind us into silent unchanging piles of blah. (sorry, couldn’t find a good word for that)

I’m in an awkward spot now where most of my friends are still in Wilmore, Kentucky along with my brother and his wife and I’m six hours north. God open my mouth and let the Holy Spirit do His thing. Speak through me and for You to Your people. Provide new conversations everyday as I continue to learn from You. Humble me at Your feet and bring me Your patience.
