I want God to show up in mighty ways. I want the people around me to feel His presence and know His love. I want to see generations and nations come to Him fully. I want to see His Spirit moving in the lives of young people.
It’s been a while. I’ve returned to the states after two great months of leading my Real Life team. It ended so much better than I anticipated. I released the girls back into the “real world” last week and have so much faith and hope for God to continue doing great things in their lives.
And then I needed to pass out. During our last ten days of ministry in San Jose, Guatemala I met a parasite and he took me down. I’ve been trying my best to slowly rest and recover the past 2-3 weeks. This is the worst souvenir ever.
I’ve been “home” in Georgia for a little over a week now checking in with friends and re-packing. This morning I made the hour commute to the Adventures in Missions base in Gainesville to get final paper work signed before my departure next week with the World Race K-squad. As I was driving one main thing kept coming to mind: “I don’t know!” I don’t know how to raise more support. I don’t know how to speak into people’s lives. I don’t know how to love others. I don’t know how to keep my friends close. I don’t know how to be a squad leader.
Ha, this is actually a good spot. A little tense at the moment but good spot to be in – God’s in control! 150%! So, all this was leading me into my prayers this morning with God. We were talking and I asked Him to show me something new about Himself today.
I get to AIM and collect my paperwork so my afternoon could include a sweet game of Ultimate! I’m still sweaty as I type this. I get there with Seth Barnes, Jr. – who was on the Race with me – and Zach Parish – who was on the July 2008 World Race squad. Check it out: The Kingdom of God is HUGE…and yet reminds me constantly how small this world is. I played with Erin and her dad Mark Almand. I first met them 6 years ago on a two-week AIM trip to England and haven’t seen them since!
Even greater blessing was when we were done playing. After the game the five of us – Mark, Erin, Seth, Zach, and myself – simply prayed and called out to God for His leading in all of our lives; each of us is going in different directions continuing to build Kingdom all over the world. Mark prayed last for all of us. He listened to the voice of God and brought us a divine reminder. He encouraged us all to remember our relationship with God. That relationship is to be refreshed and renewed. All of us have kinda been believers for a while so to see God in new ways and delight in Him with childlike faith is inviting, beautiful, and sweet.
