I love the people I’ve gotten to work with this summer. I mean everyone on camp is pretty sweet, but I am so grateful for my little video and photo team. Each morning counselors and staff are expected to have a group devotional time which they call morning meetings. Because each one of us on the video and photo team have different schedules meeting together in the morning was difficult if not impossible. In the first four weeks of camp I think we met once maybe twice in an afternoon or evening to catch up on life. I’m so glad we’re human and need more of God than that. Week five or so we all had to admit that personally we weren’t spending the time with the Lord that we needed. We were all getting drained and tired quickly because we weren’t filling up with God’s truth or building solid community within our team. That’s when 1030 began. After looking at our schedules we set aside 10:30 every night to meet together. (We call it 1,030 because that’s what it looks like on the posters I made.)

The Lord has been Amazing in showing up each night to tell us more about His heart and character. I’ve loved coming back into community and living as the Body. We share stories of our lives and testimonies of His faithfulness. It’s a fun group of people that even have others from around camp staying up late and joining in just to share our time with the Lord. This will be our last week of 1030 but I hope I can take with me the treasured value of time to sit with friends talking about the One who has changed our lives this past summer and every day to come.
