Guys, God has provided in full- several months ahead of time! Ah, He’s so so good!
I can barely make a complete sentence right now, but I want to give a quick overview of where your money has gone so far!
Team Burning Joy spent our first month in Sisophon, Cambodia. We moved to a different village every week to spend time with church families, teach English, play games with the youth, and do life with them. The Lord showed us what true joy and hospitality looks like, no matter what the circumstances may be.
Month 2 was spent in Chiang Mai, Thailand working with Lighthouse in Action alongside our entire squad. I learned more about my personal relationship with the Lord as I volunteered in Zion Cafe. I learned that small actions that seem mundane can make a huge difference in someone’s life. I learned to listen for the Lord, and He taught me about His grace when I may be too afraid or insecure to follow His lead.
Now that we’re in Month 3, Team Burning Joy is exploring Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. We are teaching English to University students, and then meeting with them one-on-one for coffee dates. We’re only about a week in, and I already love it! The students are so excited to have us here- I can’t wait to get to know them better. Plus, a ministry where I get to chill with someone close to my age, drink coffee, and talk about life? What more could I ask for?
It’s only Month 3. Whenever I talk to family or friends back home, I can already see a change in myself. I can tell that the Lord is slowly and gently breaking my heart and molding it to be more like Him. He’s breaking down my insecurities, my doubts, my fears, anything that may be holding me back. He has given me peace and comforted me when I am more homesick than I’d ever like to be, and He’s given me a family- a group of sisters in Burning Joy. He’s forced me to learn to let others serve me when I broke my arm and wasn’t able to do some of the simplest tasks. He’s shown me what it looks like to live among people who are head-over-heels in love with Him.
I can’t begin to imagine what life will look like Month 4, Month 8, or Month 11. I’m so excited to see what the Lord’s got in store!
So, THANK YOU for allowing this journey to begin, and for allowing me to stay the entire 11 months! Thank you for believing in what God is doing around the world through me, through Team Burning Joy, and through L Squad!
