Team Tharros at training camp in October, ready to serve the nations!

Today my adventure begins. I have dreamed of this moment for so many years and now that it feels like I am in someone else body. Today I said goodbye to everything familiar, today I said goodbye to everything that is comfortable and easy.

My squad along with two other squads have been in Hollywood, Florida for the last three days going through one last training session before we leave the country for the next 11 months. There are about 130 of us staying in a small church, sleeping anywhere we can find a spot. We are already practicing living on a tight budget and operating on little sleep while constantly surrounded by people. So far I am taking one challenge at a time and finding everything has been worth it.
God is preparing my heart for changes, big changes. I am enjoying spending time with my incredible team in the warm weather.

At 11 a.m. January 13thwe fly to San Salvador and will be picked up by our transport to La Libertad. Today I say goodbye to my homeland. Today I say goodbye to my old life and step into something new.  Today I say hello to the world.
