As I look back over what has happened in my life since I graduated collage my mind can hardly keep up with all that God has shown me and all the ways He has broken and healed me. It was two years ago this weekend that I launched for the World Race. I flew from Miami to San Salvador to begin the best and hardest year of my life.

Since then, I have realized that missions are something that God has placed on my life and in my heart. They will always be a part of my life whether I am serving on the field myself, in prayer for all of those that I have met, or offering support wherever I can.

It is a life that I have chosen. I would not choose any other. It looks different every day but that is one of the things I love most about missions. Today, for me, this is what missions looks like:

I have just finished my four-month apprenticeship with Adventures in Missions, the same organization that sent me on The World Race. I worked in their marketing department for Venture Magazine writing articles and taking photos.

My internship has ended and I have taken on a full-time job with Adventures in Missions. I switched to their Encounter department that handles all short term mission trips (short term being two months or less). I am in leadership development which means I work with primarily the leaders of the trips, helping prepare them for ministry and taking care of logistics to get them to their respective countries and cities. I will also be leading several trips myself this summer. These trips are both domestic and international.

I love everything about my life and my job, but the difficult thing for me is the money. It is just part of this life that I have chosen. I am paid a stipend each month that should cover my basic living costs, but I do not receive a full salary so that the money can be used to send more missionaries out on the field. The rest of my salary I must fund raise.

Since I have been fundraising since October 2011, I am going to do it a little differently this time. I want to assemble a team! I would really like to partner with some of you who would like to be a part of my life long-term. I am transitioning into sending monthly e-mail updates to my supporters instead of blogs and starting a personal blog that will be at a different website.

I am hoping this can be a partnership where we can share this journey together and pour into one another’s lives and lift each other up in prayer. I would love to hear about and be involved in your lives as well and know how to pray for each of your specifically or even share some of your stories on my blog.

I am asking for $25 a month or what you feel you can afford for a commitment of one year. I may be involved in missions longer than that, so I might ask you for support again after that!

I am so thankful for all of you and how you have been a part of this ministry since the beginning and I would love to continue with all of your support. Coming home for Christmas I was overwhelmed by how much love and encouragement I received from that wonderfully small community! However, I also know that many of you have other commitments, so I understand that not everyone will be able to.

If you are interested in taking this next step with me and becoming one of my official supporters, please leave your e-mail address in the comment section below and I will send you an e-mail with more information about how you can help, along with monthly updates.

I am so thankful for the team of support God has already given me and can’t wait to see what He has in store! Much love to all of you.
