Jambo!  That is
Swahili for hello.  We are
currently in Busia, Kenya working with Pastor Gideon at Deliverance
Church.  I can safely say that I
LOVE IT here.  It is surreal and a
true answer to prayer to be back in Africa.

I was overwhelmed with joy and so many other emotions on
Sunday at church.  I have said it
before, I truly believe that Africans worshiping God is what it will sound like
when angels worship God in heaven.
The joy of the Lord is in this place and it is beautiful.  There is something about this place
where you can feel the heart beat of God.   The sights, the sounds, the culture, the music, and
most of all the people.

This month at Deliverance Church we will be doing some
construction in our first week to build an office for the church.  The following 3 weeks we will be making
house visits, hospital ministry, prison ministry, visiting a girls home, and
maybe even a community event.  We
will have many opportunities this month to preach as well.  I’m so excited for the BIG things God
has in store this month for us!

On a slightly different note, we are in an area with both
Malaria and Typhoid.  Although I
have taken all the necessary precautions please pray for my team and I
throughout this month!

Malaria Medication- Check

Mosquito Nets- Check

Safe Drinking Water- Check

A whole team with head lice- Check

Yes, you read that correctly.  This is the 3rd round of lice in our team.  I have avoided it up to this point, but
I guess third times a charm.  It is
just part of life when you are doing the things we do.  Currently we are staying in a house
with 11 of us sleeping on mattresses on the floor!  Praise God for mattresses and a house to stay in.  I get to keep my sleeping pad packed
away for the month.  That being
said, please pray that the lice doesn’t spread throughout the team with our
close sleeping quarters!  We were
SUPER EXCITED to find one bottle of lice treatment in Busia.  We are praying that tea tree oil and
prayers will take care of the rest!!!
