We all learned years and years ago
that the results of sex is getting pregnant.  This is something that should not come as a surprise to
anyone.  If this is a fact that we
know, how is it then when we talk about prostitution, the selling of sex, do we
fail to address the silent victims, the ones who cant choose for themselves,
the children?  I did not consider
them when I heard we would be working with the women entertainers.  I only thought of the trafficking, the
abuse, the need for healing and hope, and the sad reality of the endless cycle
of self-deprecation.  I overlooked
basic life knowledge, sex produces children, and therefore children all over
the world are victims of prostitution as well.  Countless women get abortions, which means there are
countless children that never experience life, but I am not here to talk about
them.  What about the kids who are
born, who do have the chance at life?
What does their life look like?
Have you ever stopped to think about them?  Unfortunately, I didn’t until I met them face-to-face.

We pulled up the cinderblock
building and got out of the taxi.
There was trash everywhere, stray dogs, chickens, lots of flies, and a
smell that was anything but pleasant.
We walked down some stairs to find a curtain covering the entrance to a
room in the nearly abandoned frame of a building.  As we walked into the room, I saw him laying there, a precious
newborn baby.  His mother had been
a street-walker and has been unable to work since the baby was born.  They both need medical care, food, and
the mother is in need of counseling.
The father was a former client turned boyfriend.  He was murdered shortly after the baby
was conceived.  We were visiting to
assess the situation with a social worker, who works with Crossover
Ministries.  We were able to
provide some much needed antibiotics, diapers, food, and a small amount of
money to provide for their needs.
We prayed, encouraged, and spoke life into this young mother.  We also prayed for the precious little
boy’s life, that he would grow up to be a leader, strong in the ways of the
Lord, that he be healthy and have all his needs provided for him.  This poverty is not something He chose,
but a life he was born into.

We have heard of stories of
children, forced to sleep in the clubs while their mothers dance and sleep with
men.  We have heard stories of
abuse and rape in this environment.
We even heard a horrific story of a mother who would lock her children
in the house at night in hopes they would be safe and no one would hurt
them.  Tragically, one night there
was a fire in the building and the children couldn’t get out.  Their mother came home to find that
they only things that brought her life and hope were gone.  It is a terrible and bleak reality, but
one we must face and address.

Team Radiance had the privilege of
taking care of two beautiful girls, while their mother, a former woman of the
night, was with their youngest sister in the hospital.  The little one had bronchial pneumonia
and had to stay for a number of days at the hospital.  Thank the Lord that these three precious girls now have a
mother who no longer has to sell herself.
If you ask the oldest girl what she prays about she says she asks God to
save all the children from all of the clubs and keep them safe.  If you ask her where all the children
could go, she answers in God’s house.
Oh, the precious faith of a child
The truth is God did rescue her. and He brought her and her sisters under His
wing, into His house.  What an
amazing story of victory and redemption.
She wants to grow up and be the director of Crossover Ministries because
they saved her life and the life of her mother.  These beautiful girls’ smiles and laughter will forever be
imprinted in my heart.  The Lord
gave them a way out, allowed them to keep much of their innocence, and
protected them though Crossover.
He LOVES these girls so much and now they have such a bright
future.

When you remember to pray for the
women caught in human trafficking don’t forget about the precious little ones
who have no choice.  Please don’t
make the oversight I did. Realize that prostitution effects so many more than
just the women who sell themselves.
These little boys and girls are the future of the countries they
live in.  They can be the ones who
God uses to break the cycle of injustice.
They will not only change their communities, but the world! Thank you
for your prayers and joining me in this fight against injustice.
