Just the Himalayas as we are coming into Kathmandu… No big deal

One of our first days of ministry, we hiked up in the foothills that overlooked Kathmandu. We prayed over the valley and the city.

We had our first true adventure day on the Race. I was not planning on going bungee jumping….It just kind of happened.

One day we visited a Buddhist Temple.

You never know what to expect. One day we came home and this baby cow was just hanging out in our gate. I lost What Are The Odds and had to lick his nose. He left immediately after that.

Ministry can change in a second. Our last week in Nepal we were in the jungle near the Indian border. Someone in the community died two days into our visit. Our ministry shifted to attending the funeral and providing services for the grieving family over the next few days.

Us making our way from village to village.

Meet Caramel Macchiato, or at least that’s what I called her, because I couldn’t understand her name. She was the village trouble maker. We got along pretty well. Her mother asked us to pray for her, since she was naughty. We became best friends and at our three hour church service later that week we hung out the whole time. She is a handful to say the least.

On our way back from the jungle we stopped at a restaurant for lunch. After an hour of waiting, they asked if any of us could help in the kitchen with our order of momos. So, basically we paid for food that we prepared ourselves.

My teammate AnnaGrace and I befriended a woman who ran a street stand. She is one of the most joyful people I have ever met. Every time we went to Thamel, we made sure to visit her. We were always greeted with a hug and two kisses on the cheek.
