One of our ministries in Nepal was playing with kids from the slums. Every Wednesday we would head out to a soccer field. Part of the group would go get the kids from the surrounding slums. We would spend the morning playing soccer, ultimate frisbee, or running around with them. A lot of times we were just human jungle gyms.
The morning would end with us providing the kids with lunch. We would all sit in a big circle and eat with the kids.
Simple, yes. But it is by far one of my favorite things that I have done on the race. Children are so joyful despite their circumstances and working with these kids brought us joy. It was an awesome time to just love the kids around us.
