“Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing at all.”-Helen Keller

Hey! I’m Caitlin!

Who am I

Well, let me introduce myself properly. I’m Caitlin Hunter. I’m 23 years old. Born and raised in Rochester, New York (we say it, ‘Raaaachester’). I graduated from Syracuse University in 2015 with a B.A. in History and Social Studies Education. I recently finished my Masters Degree at Nazareth College in Inclusive Adolescent Education.

What I Love

I love college basketball. Raised a Kansas Jayhawks fan, but had to switch loyalty to the Syracuse Orange in college.

I am always on the hunt for a new craft beer. I’ve never met an IPA that I didn’t like.

I seriously love history. People will attest that I light up when talking about the Constitution (it is my favorite historical document). I love July Fourth more than any other holiday. I am a sucker for anything Americana. If it has stars and stripes, I am buying it.

I practice yoga on a consistent basis. I believe in the power of meditation and mindfulness.

I love to dance. It doesn’t matter where I am, what I am doing or who I am with. If a good song comes on, I am dancing.

Why I’m Here

I get to spend a year of my life traveling around the world, working in communities, and loving people for who they are. That sounds like a pretty good gig to me.

As of January 2017, I’ll be headed to Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Greece, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Swaziland, Botswana and South Africa.

I’ll be working in communities doing a myriad of things including but not limited to: encouraging young churches, providing VBS, working with victims of human trafficking, teaching English, and providing health care. What we do is determined by the community’s needs.

I want as many people to be a part of this experience. I cannot do this alone. I will need support emotionally, spiritually, and financially. I would love if you would come on this journey with me. If you would like, you can subscribe to my blog, by clicking the ‘Subscribe for Updates’ button or the ‘Follow Me’ Tab. If you would like to support me financially you can do so by using the ‘Donate’ button at the top of the page.

I am so excited to see what 2017 holds for me and I am excited to share my stories with you.

Here We Go!
