I am 25 years old from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I love the Green Bay Packers, and am seriously considering taking my Cheesehead with me on the Race. Though I am from Milwaukee I have been living in St Louis, Missouri for  the past 6 years. In many ways St Louis has become home, but I will never be a Rams fan.

I love to read. My favorite subjects are Sociology, Theology, and Current Affairs. I’m pretty much a Non- Fiction kind of girl. My favorite author is Henri Nowen. I quote him as much as I can. I also have a secret love of Puritan poetry which makes me a bit of a dork, but I’m fine with that.

I love music. Some call me a music snob, but I can’t help it I have good taste. I have no musical ability, but I am a great interpretive and car dancer. At least I like to think so. I am obsessed with the Banjo and convinced a little Banjo can solve a lot of problems.

I love coffee and good conservation. One of my favorite things to do is sit in a coffee shop and hear someone’s story. I believe everyone has a story to tell and every story leads back to the bigger story of God’s work in our lives.

I love to see God work in the lives of people especially people who wanted nothing to do with Him, because that was me. I was not a person who grew up in church and sought God my whole life. In fact I was the very opposite. I ran away from God. I didn’t believe He could love someone like me. Through the body of Christ here in St Louis and in Milwaukee I have experienced so much grace. I have seen what Christian community and loving broken people looks like through the people who loved me. Through their love I experienced Christ’s love.

I am looking forward to this amazing opportunity to share the hope I have to those who are hopeless. There is so much pain and brokenness in the World and I look forward to sharing the love of Christ to hurting people. I love Isaiah 61 and it about sums up The World Race for me. Here’s the first verse but the whole chapter is amazing!

” The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound”
