It has officially become less than 100 days out from departing. Yikes. It definitely is creeping up faster than I thought it would, but I could not be more excited. It has been on my heart to go to Africa (along with a missions trip in general) for some time now. Many people I know who have been to Africa have had life changing experiences, and I wanted a taste of it for myself.

World Race Semesters is an opportunity to solely set aside time to focus on the Father while sharing the Gospel and being a light in communities for 1-3 months. I will be spending a month each in Swaziland and South Africa, and I can’t wait to love on those around me. I first heard of World Race only a few months ago. They are known mainly for their gap year trips (3-4 countries in nine months) and their 11n11 (eleven countries in eleven months). While I have a huge love for traveling, those time frames seemed so long. It didn’t seem right to leave for such a long period, at least in this season of my life. After putting it off, I still had a strong desire to get away from all that was familiar to me for a short amount of time. I decided to look at the World Race again, and this time I saw the Semesters option which could not have been more perfect. After I applied, it seemed as though things started to fall into place like it was meant to be in the first place.

I am so excited and expectant to see and experience what this trip holds. Feel free to follow along as I go on this journey!
