While in Peru I have done and seen many things I’ve never experienced before. I ate a guinea pig, I rode a horse to school in Negritas, I sheared a sheep in Yanacancha, I carried home my own live duck for dinner, and I felt comfortable singing loudly in front of a church. This last one is very important. While here I have felt completely accepted as I am. No judgment, just godly love. My testimony about my time here in Peru is this: because of the love and acceptance I have experienced from the people here I have been able to cast out fear and anxiety from the Devil and walk in a deeper freedom of my true identity in Christ. I don’t have to be afraid to sing in front of all of you because no matter what I sound like I know I am in a community that loves when people make joyful noises unto the Lord and appreciate it. I don’t have to be afraid to wear mismatched layers to church to keep warm; all of you are just happy I’m here no matter what I look like. I don’t have to fear speaking truth about the Lord in front of you because you all know it is pleasing to God and encourage me in this. Because of the love I have felt and seen in your communities I have been able to walk in a greater freedom and learned more about the love and acceptance Christ has for me as well as how I should love and accept others. Thank you.
