This past month has been one of the most loving and joyful months, but also one of most exhausting. This blog post is long over due. So here’s a short story of my life these past four weeks.
Anyone that knows me knows that Camp Jubilee has been a part of my life for many years. My first year as a camper was in 8th grade, and I have had the honor of being a counselor for the past 7 years.
Because of camp, I have learned what it’s like to love the Lord with all my might, to trust Him completely and to be selfless. But I have also learned what it’s like to love others, to love myself, and to give my life to spreading God’s love serving others.
Each year I am surrounded by some of the most incredible humans, whether its during classes, swim time, bombardo, or campfire, I ALWAYS feel at home. Camp Jubilee showed me what a good community felt like and brought me into the (soon to be) missionary I am today.
Thank you Camp Jubilee for igniting my fire. It hurts a little that I will not be with you next year, but I know camp will be just as great!
Following camp, with a few others from the midwest, we made the 12 hour drive south to Gainesville, GA where we met the other 30ish people that we’d spend the next 11 months with.
TRAINING CAMP
Y’all I spent 10 days sleeping in a tent beside people who I didn’t know a year ago and hadn’t met until day 1 of TC, but now they’re my family, my Ohana {Each squad gets a letter and we are 5th Gen O Squad}
God revealed so much to me in those 10 days, He showed me love in ways I didn’t know I was missing, He took the shame I didn’t know I was carrying, He brought out strengths I didn’t know I had {read on to see what I’m talking about}, and my goodness he blessed me with these MOST INCREDIBLE team.
MY TEAM: Vessels of Joy.
These are the girls I will be spending the first few months with. I will be by their side every day doing ministry, eating meals, and sleeping inches apart. Our team name gives a little insight to us. They bring so much joy to me, and during our ministry, I KNOW they will bring joy to all those we come into contact with.
Jeorgi, Cae, Hannah, Amanda, and Sydney
I am honored to say that I was chosen to help with Squad Logistics along with Jacob and Paige. Throughout training camp, my teammates kept bringing this forth saying I have qualities that would make me good at this position. I have little knowledge of logistics, but God said, “take on this challenge I am going to grow you in so many ways.”
Below is O Squad.
With that being said, THERE ARE 36 DAYS UNTIL I LAUNCH. I need $2,000 before the end of September to launch with my amazing squad, and $10,000 total before I am fully funded. The amount of support I have already received is INCREDIBLE. Y’all each and every one of you have a piece of my heart, I would not be here without you. Any donation small or big, makes a HUGE difference and I thank you so much.
AS ALWAYS, don’t forget to subscribe.
With love,
B
