Leaving Colombia was hard, but something about crossing the border into Ecuador felt so right. The 30 hour bus ride ended when we arrived in the magnificent mountains of Quito. The sun seemed a bit brighter, the air had a freshness that filled my lungs with excitement. My team was told we would leave our squad in Quito to travel 6 hours south to THE COAST for the entire month!! Portoviejo, Ecuador, to be exact. I’ve only been here a few days & it already feels like home. Strangers have become family. The days are hot & sunny, treating me to an endless summer!! Time is already flying by; we work in the hospital, at the church, in the community restoring all that last years earthquake has destroyed, & with the families living in the garbage dumps & slums.
God is taking me so much deeper than I imagined to be possible. This month He’s teaching me to let go. To let go of the past bondages, the present worries, & the future expectations. He’s teaching me to let go & experience NOW. To be present where my feet are. To live presently, creatively, freely. To live in the victory that He has won for us, and to live in the abundance that He’s so generously set out for us.
To all my supporters in prayer, finance, and encouragement… you mean the world to me. Seriously, I can not thank you for helping me get where I am. I would love to hear how everyone is doing back home, so feel free to email me or text me with updates on life! May God bless you in peace & abundant life! XOXOXO, Brynley
Here’s a bit of where I call home this month:
