I’ve been away from home for over 4 months now. That’s halfway through the Race. Crazy. In this time, I’ve lived in 3 different countries, & now entering my 4th!!

Battambang, Cambodia. This will be my ‘temporary home’ for the next 2 months! I’ll be teaching English at a Cambodian school, with a goal of forming relationships with the students & showing them the life-changing love of Jesus in any creative way I can.

I like it here so far. The children are so precious & welcome you with huge smiles & an exaggerated “HELLOOO” as you pass by them on the red dirt, village roads. We ride our bicycles everywhere, sleep in tents on the roof under the glowing star-soaked sky, & catch tuk-tuk rides into town to get Wifi. We live off about $4 a day for food. I enjoy this life; I’m learning to prefer it actually. It’s become pretty normal, as if this is the way its supposed to be. Perhaps, it is?? I’m learning each day that less is truly more.

Less Wifi- More meaningful conversations & relationships.

Less money- More creativity.

Less Materialism- More authentic living.

Less comfort (cold showers/tents/bugs) – More appreciation.

Less reliability- More trust in Jesus.

Less of me, more of You, God. everyday. That’s ultimately what I’m learning. Life- that it’s not about me, at all. It’s about Him, its about Love. This is going to be a growing 2 months; I’m excited & expectant to see His perfect plans lay out- His weird, wild, surprising, funny, outlandish, perfect plans.

We start ministry tomorrow, so I’ll try to update my blog more, whenever I get Wifi! Please pray that these students can see Jesus in us, that we can be transparent vessels for Him in this place. I want to pray for you as well, email me any prayer requests if you’d like! [email protected] 🙂
