We arrived in Costa Rica on the 26th and were warmly welcomed by the ministry host and the other World Race team that was there as well. We got all settled the first day and got to know the other team then we got the rundown of all that we would be doing the following day. We called it a day after that because it was a long day of traveling. The following day we did some work on the base just some cleaning and some small construction type projects. The following days we continued to work mainly on the base as well as we did some painting with the community in one of the parks. The main project that the team had been working on before we got there was painting murals in some of the community parks with kids and any locals who wanted to assist. This has been really cool to see because it has made people curious as to why we are doing what we are doing and has led to lots of people coming up and talking to us! More recently we have been getting involved with more children’s ministry type projects. For example we have been cleaning up a park and the kids love to come out and help us and see what we are up to! When the kids come out I always carry my little balloon bag with me so that I can make and give them little balloon animals. The kids love the balloons and it really is helpful to connect with them. Big thanks to my grandpa for teaching me this skill before I left. Costa Rica is an amazing place and you can really see the Lord moving through the town of Jaco! I’m very grateful to be here and to serve in the ways that we are!
