Every two weeks our checks come in, deplete instantly and we start all over.

Our past year has been rough to say the least.

We make just enough to live where we do, and that is about it.

Even food has become lower on the priority list due to the high costs of living in Franklin.

We know what it’s like to go without dinner, to say no to your friends about going out, because you just can’t foot the bill, and to wear old clothing to work more often than everyone else. These things aren’t a big deal, they are just indicators that our finances can’t cover every aspect of our lives.

But even in the midst of great discouragement, God has prompted us to go. He has prompted to us to go on a $34,034 trip even though our savings account is bare. He has called us to have deep trust that the money is there, we just need to ask for it.

What comes in as pennies, will eventually multiply to thousands. And the truth is, we really believe that.

God calls those who are unqualified, who may not be the pick of the litter or the person who seems most prepared. I will be the first to say that I am neither qualified, the top pick or prepared in the slightest (AT ALL).

But there is one thing I know, when God calls you to do something. You do it.

Sure, I’ve asked myself plenty of times,

“But… how?”

“But… where is the money coming from?”

“Are you sure, God?”

But the end result I’ve found is that this is an ultimate test of putting faith in something I can’t see, reach or even try to dream up.

Even in the times I feel severely unqualified, He reminds met that I don’t even have a legitimate case to bring to Him.

My case: “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” (Exodus 3:11). Any fame or social credibility I may have once had is gone. In fact, I’m a shepherd and “every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians” (Genesis 46:34).

Objection Overruled: “I will be with you” (Exodus 3:12). “It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God.”(2 Corinthians 3:5)

In these times where money is slim and our faith is unreliable we must remind ourselves that God is faithful and He has no plans on leaving us to deal with this. He plans on creating, designing and making it happen.

I am unqualified and we are broke. But I know that in the eyes of my Creator, I am exactly where I need to be, and I am going to make it exactly where He calls me.
